FAQ & legal
Straight answers.
What data will you work with?
Publicly available data only: government records, public filings, published directories, open registries. We never touch breached or stolen datasets, and we don't scrape private personal information. If your request falls outside public data, we'll decline at intake.
Are your deliverables consumer reports?
No. We deliver raw public data, not consumer reports, and Recordpipe is not a consumer reporting agency. If you intend to use data for decisions about employment, tenancy, credit, or insurance eligibility, tell us in the intake form — those requests get a compliance review before any work is scoped, and we'll ask you to attest to your own FCRA obligations.
How fast do you respond?
We reply to every request within 2 business days. Scoping delivers within 5 business days of scoping payment. Build timelines are part of your quote.
What does it cost?
Scoping is $500, credited in full to your contract. Contracts are fixed-price, $5,000 to $3 million depending on scope. See the pricing model.
Can you keep the data current?
Yes — refresh retainers on a daily, weekly, monthly, or as-needed cadence, quoted with your contract. Deliveries can be full snapshots or just what changed, pushed by webhook.
What does "AI analysis" mean here?
You tell us what a useful record looks like for your team; on each delivery we filter, deduplicate, and summarize the raw aggregation against that definition. The output is your working document — a target list, a change report, a structured summary — with the raw data available underneath.
Who are you?
Recordpipe is an independent data company. We build and run data products of our own; custom work runs on the same infrastructure, which already processes over one million public records nightly.
